La Val Featured in Wine Spectator with Two Wines Among the Summer’s Recommended Albariños

17 Jul 2026

The prestigious American wine magazine Wine Spectator has included two La Val wines in its article “11 Refreshing Albariños for Summer Sipping,” written by editor Alison Napjus, a keen observer of the Spanish wine scene. In the feature, she highlights the diversity and growing international profile of Rías Baixas Albariños: “Albariño’s hallmark acidity highlights flavors of citrus and stone fruit, supported by saline minerality and subtle notes of almond, white flowers and fresh herbs,” writes Napjus.

La Val Albariño 2025 was selected by Napjus and awarded 90 points, while La Val Gran Añada Sobre Lías 2021 received 91 points.
In her tasting note for La Val Albariño 2025, Wine Spectator underscores the wine’s vibrant character, with notes of juicy nectarine, citrus nuances and a distinctly saline profile. For La Val Gran Añada Sobre Lías 2021, the review highlights its creamy texture, depth and aromatic complexity, featuring flavours of baked peach, toasted almond and aromatic herbs.
These scores coincide with the recent market release of both vintages and further reinforce La Val’s international recognition as a leading producer in Rías Baixas. The two recommended wines also make excellent companions for summer lunches, dinners and gatherings with friends.
